On May 4th, CASA of Baltimore County teamed up with Wegmans of Owings Mills to deliver 350 hot meals to children in foster care living in group homes and the staff caring for them. Wegmans generously donated the food, and CASA staff and CASA volunteer, Chris Jensen, delivered it to The Board of Child Care, Woodbourne, and St. Vincent’s Villa, three group homes where many of our CASA youth reside. We were excited to be able to help our kids feel more comfortable and at the same time show the staff at the group homes how much we appreciate them and the care they give. Everyone was appreciative of the support.  As Laurie Anne Spagnola, President and CEO of The Board of Child Care put it, “Responding to COVID has been like running a marathon at sprint speed, and the gracious donation of dinner from CASA has helped our staff and youth take just a brief pause for some well-deserved comfort food. Thank you so much to the volunteers and sponsors for making this possible! It has truly helped lift spirits on our campus!” It was a pleasure working with Wegmans on this effort. Wegmans has supported CASA in different ways over the years and is a great community partner. We are extremely grateful for their contribution.
