Our first annual Youth Resource Fair on March 13th, 2019 was a great success!  Partnering with the DSS Independent Living Program, and with help from our wonderful Towson High School intern Bekah Platzke and DSS Morgan State University social work intern Travis Scarborough, we introduced 21 older youth to a variety of community resources.  Vendors included: Baltimore County Department of Economic and Workforce Development; CCBC LEAP Program; Fostering Change Network; Chase Brexton; The Cavanagh House; SECU; Year Up!; Job Corps; Good Will Chesapeake; MD Board of Barbers and Cosmetology; and, The Lunch Table!

A special thanks to the Hobbs Foundation for sponsoring the event!  Kooper’s Tavern provided dinner; Towson Library provided the space; CASA Board members and DSS workers helped man the tables; and, we were lucky enough to have Edward Blackstone as our guest speaker!

We have received great feedback from our youth and our vendors and are looking forward to next year’s Resource Fair!
